Mersing and a new mobile camera

May 3 - 6  2019 ( editing in progress..)

Came for ETA ( Eta Aquarius) meteor shower and MilkyWay testing with Huawei P30 Pro.   ETA radiant only climbs up after 3:30 till dawn so there is plenty of time to shoot Milkyway. The stay was pleasant and the special food catering was fabulous.   We spent the day time sleeping or walking on the beach or ride a swing under a tree.

I brought Lumix GH3, EOS 60D with 15mm f2.8 Fisheye and HW P30Pro.  The first two days were busy playing with HW and EOS 60D on the third night. Lumix is a spare camera

Milkyway gone vertical.

Weather on Friday night is good dealing with Light Pollution ...

The ten rooms of the resort. The bright spot at the end is the resort name illumination. Over the roof spotted the Eta Carinae Milkyway.

At the inner end view - somewhere seen shooting star trails here taking the trouble to mask out the corridor light with bath powers. Here they are switched off on Sunday night.

The Milkyway has gone vertical  4:30am onwards and I gave it a touch of mint blue.  To the naked eye, they appear like a white band of not moving clouds

On the first night of using the 60D, the focus point was set incorrectly.  I only realized when I view the foto in laptop!!! Nonetheless, for nonstellar Milkyway background, the stacked image is still usable. Stars were larger ( unfocus ) yielding the Akira Effect.
