'Conquer Distance '- EOS slogan for the x50 SX50HS

Fruits ripening not far from my corridor.

This fellow did an incredible high speed maneuver  and returned to the same tree top far away.
Eurystomus orientalis.- 'the wide mouth'
Zooming  in a bit to look at the broad beak. Thank to YC this is ID to be Dollarbird ( Eurystomus orientalis which means wide mouth)

Cashew fruit and the nut attached below. The cashew nut matured first before the false fruit.

I bite into the ripe cashew fruit and suck the astringent juice. Nice one  a bit like star fruit cross with passion fruit smell.  ( Without removing the tannin large consumption of this fruit juice might interfere with protein absorption leading to mal-nutrition )

Cashew Nut Sectioned. Be careful not to touch the sticky juice oozes out from the hard outer skin of the cashew nut. It is corrosive and will leave ugly mark on your skin.
Pull in from far.... a  pink necked pigeon.
It just landed and was focusing on something...

Black and white woodpecker Picoides moluccensis.  Just when i was closing the front gate, i noticed a pair was fluttering in the tree opposite.  Later we found plenty of these b/w wood peckers on old rain trees.

Pink necked pigeon enjoying the fruits

Asian Koel you find them everywhere....
