Kuching - Bako Part II - Kubah National Park

Bako National Park ....( continued )

Bird sleeping.....
The yellow orange puff like bird sleeping we were told

At night we tour the pitch dark trail, torches located in the above swallows nesting in a shallow cave.

another view... how on earth the two adult swallows adhere to the cave surface. Adults stay outside and mother/child inside nest?

...  and cave spider

A scorpion centipede

We were told to turn off the torches and thrown in total darkness. Seconds later we saw glows from around us on the forest floor. The glow came from light emitting  mushrooms! ( the white ones in above images)

Bird found alone Lintang trail.  It looks pretty rugged.

Lintang Trail with no tall tree to shade from the sun. Bring a umbrella - you will not regret it.

Standing near the ledge looking down at the beach from top.

In and around HQ - Seaside with colorful sandstone formations

Details on the colorful sandstone.

Iron oxide streaks creating a huge canvas of painted wall.
Yet another pretty formation

Iron oxide crust
Sandstone with the usual orange yellow color with seams of iron oxide ( brownish black)

KUCHING near the SARAWAK RIVER

Gave me an impression the temple was build on the flat top of another building.

Fern's shoots - this is belin the tender version as contrast with the paku
Mani-chai ( vegetable) with eggs. A common vegetable.

You suck out the chewy meaty stuff from one end.
