Solar Eclipse 2016 March 09 Singapore ( 88% coverage)
SOLAR ECLIPSE 2016 Mar 09 swept over Asia. We have a sizeable coverage 88% this time in Singapore! It had been a long while since i last shot sun and I am not going to miss this opportunity.
- cut out Baader filter to fit P900 67mm filter alpha version between lens and filter. Beta version with additional filter
-11th hours built a solar glasses which have proven to be popular. So the then LG 3D glasses now became the solar glasses. Wearability and comfort-wise beat those paper cut out frame!!

The decision is to do this at Lower Seletar Reservior with P900 on tripod fitted with baader filter. But once fitted i have to rely on another petite camera G5X wide angle for general field photography.
Arriving at the Reservior after hopped off from bus #969... I saw clouds in the eastern horizon but soon the blue predominated. I check my compass app and noted 94 degree position was quite a big difference from my last known sun set position. A glance at the MRT track...a quick shot using G5X handheld.

For G5X I handheld the solar glasses over the aperture. You could use cloud as attenuator too. |

THis is where i placed my P900 on tripod centred |
The process started lasting from 733 to 833 |
Close to the maximum, we don't get to see the diamond ring effect and solar flares with < 100% coverage. Still a wonderful sight! |
